A custom site parents can trust on their phones, with a private area for families and staged Vercel deployments.
Why
A small independent nursery needed a site parents would trust: fast on mobile, photo-led, and easy to keep current as the setting changes through the year.
Off-the-shelf templates felt generic, and agency pricing did not fit a small setting. The brief was a custom design, a private area for families, and a developer on retainer for changes.
How it’s built
Designed and built end to end on Next.js 14 App Router, deployed on Vercel. Pages and layouts follow the nursery's own content rather than a template. Content lives in TypeScript data files and assets in the repository, so updates ship as reviewed commits.
The Parent Zone uses server-side session protection. Contact and careers forms submit to Formspree, with an optional fallback. Vercel deploys production from main and a pre-production site from staging. The retainer covers content additions, design tweaks, and platform maintenance.
